Windows Server 2022 or Windows Server 2022 Edition is the tenth and final major release of Microsoft's Windows Server server operating system, part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was released on August 18, 2021, almost three years after Windows Server 2019.
This version of Microsoft's server operating system includes many new security features, including security zones that allow administrators to define the trustworthiness of their network connections and isolate certain areas in the event of a security compromise. Improved server application security and Kubernetes support are also provided.
Windows Server 2022 Standard features an improved Server Manager that allows administrators to manage multiple servers and services from one place. The version also includes a new server monitoring feature - Windows Admin Center.
